How to find us?
The Museum Steam Depot is located next to the NS Rotterdam North Goods yard, on the northern edge of the 'Kralingse Bos' park. Pedestrians and cyclists can use the entrance at Bosdreef 75.
By bus (RET)
Closest busstops are Paradijsplein (37 and 38) and Kerkhoflaan (38); from there it's a approx 10 min. walk.
By train
Leaving NS Rotterdam North station, walk towards Rotterdam town centre. Turn left on to the Gordelweg at the crossroads of Straatweg/Gordelweg/Bergweg.
Go straight on, with the road to your right. Go past the first two bridges on your left, and take the third (pedestrians only) bridge, which takes you past a small shipyard for pleasure craft. This comes out on to a long straight road, with a fence on the right and some industrial buildings on the left.
The Museum Depot is at the end of this road on the right, after about 1 Km.
By car
- From Den Haag / Hoek van Holland:
- Take the A20, Ring Rotterdam - Oost towards Utrecht. Take exit 15 Crooswijk and turn left at the traffic lights. At the end of the bend to the right (near the police station) you will see an ANWB sign and from here onwards the depot is signposted with
.
- From Dordrecht:
- Follow the A16, Ring Rotterdam - Oost towards Den Haag / Utrecht. Take exit 27 Rotterdam Alexander / Hillegersberg and turn right at the lights towards Rotterdam Centrum. After a couple of kilometers through a wood (during which you will pass the depot on the right) you will get to traffic lights, where signposts guide you the rest of the way.
- From Gouda:
- Follow the A20, Ring Rotterdam - West towards Den Haag / Hoek van Holland. Take exit 14 Rotterdam Centrum, go around the roundabout and back on to the motorway in the opposite direction. Then take exit 15 Crooswijk and turn left at the lights. At the end of the bend to the right (by the police station) you will see an ANWB signpost , which guides you the rest of the way.
